So... What is Maiar?
From their twitter account: “A digital wallet & global payments app that is reimagining the way we interact with money, […]” and from their website: “Maiar is powered by the amazing technology of the Elrond blockchain, and is going to radically change the way we interact with money.”
The group of words that comes up the most is the change or re-imagine of our “interaction with money”, but what does that even really mean?
Interacting with money in a different way sound impossible for nearly everybody, there is buying and there is selling, it’s for most people the only two dimension you can find when we talk about interaction with capital.
If blockchain startups need regular people to understand and care about complex technology, they’re likely to remain as niche as other silicon valley-ish projects that sought to redistribute the power of the internet.
What's my Opinion?
From what is see and what I learn about Maiar, it sounds like all the others wallet exchange platforms that you can find, such as Binance, Coinbase or Crypto.com for only naming the most popular of them. It even do a little bit less than that because you can’t sell your token right away in the app, you absolutely need another program or app to do so.
In order to transition to a new web era, Web 3.0 that is, and to solve the fundamental issues currently plaguing existing platforms, we need to rethink how the web works and to change the fundamental structures we have in place right now enabling a shift to a more human-centric computing and the rise of the Sovereign Individual.
The best way to find a solution to this web problematic is surely to use …well… a whole new Web Browser. Since we don’t expect the current incumbent players to have any incentive to be the driving force of this change, a new browser revolution (“war”) has to start. With also knowing that even Bing have a really hard time, this couple of years, to deal with the giant, no, the titan, GOOGLE.
But Maiar and the others “Blochainned Web Browsers” are different. Their vision of confidentiality is way more develop, way more authentic and honest. Maiar Browser is for the most part mobile and if you wanted it in your computer, it’s really going to be the 12 labors of Hercules for most people. In my opinion, this mindset to deal with this new technologic era of privacy is kind of fading away by the marketing and mostly the ergonomic part of this whole thing, a lot for taking “control and ownership of your data”.
